Make sure the area is safe before anyone goes near it. If the tree or branch is still partially attached and hanging, it needs to come down before the fence can be assessed. Take photos of everything before you start moving anything.

Who Is Responsible for the Fence?

In Texas, if a tree from your neighbor's yard falls on your fence, it is generally your responsibility to repair your own fence. The exception is if the tree was clearly dead or diseased and your neighbor knew about it.
